How to make a Verizon blackberry work in Denmark?

Okay. My friend from the states is here in Denmark right now, and for the next two weeks. She has a fairly new Verizon Blackberry, But it has no coverage here. Does anyone know any way to make it work while she’s here?

  unless its a world phone with gsm world roaming capabilities and takes a sim then unfortunately she is out of luck. perhaps she could rent a loaner phone and use prepaid sim for coverage?
