How do you make the bluetooth visible for a Samsung Magnet cell phone?

I just bought a Samsung Magnet cell phone. I was told that there was a bluetooth feature to communicate files with other cell phones such as music and photos. I can turn on the bluetooth and the bluetooth light comes on. I am not visible to myself or anyone else. Does anyone know how to make it so I am visible??

there should be option to make your phone visible (or discoverable)

remember to switch bluetooth off after, for security reasons.

Go to bluetooth. Scroll down and then you’ll find the option of discoverability. check yes

My husband just bought three Samsung Magnets for the family to replace old phones. We were going to transfer all of our ringtones, contacts and pics from the old phones to the new ones, which we have done before with our old one(samsung a7something). However, we had problems and contacted AT&T. We were told the only way to transfer is with the headset. Now, let me say this makes absolutely no sense to me, but that is what the AT&T rep said. We are taking them back and getting something else. What if the bluetooth headset goes bad within the 2 years? We will no longer be able to transfer via bluetooth.
