How do I delete a PURCHASED ipod touch application from my apple account?

I know how to delete the application from itunes and from the ipod. What I want to do is remove it from the list of purchased applications associated with my apple account. (if I select this application after deleting it, I’m told I already purchased it and can download again for free. Downloading again restores the file to where I left off with the app – not the original install) Its a free application to begin with, and I want to start over from the initial download.

  From an iPod touch or from iTunes, just begin to redownload the app. Also, you can right click the application icon, select “show in finder” and then delete it from there, then redownload.
